Pound Euro rates stall…

GBP/EUR exchange rates creep up over the course of the trading week

The pound has found some favour recently but this was pared back slightly as a result of the lack of anything too amazing on the exchange rate. Having risen on expectations the Bank of England might announce something new, sterling euro rates have dipped despite what should be seen as positive news.

The announcement that Government borrowing has fallen and the budget deficit has shrunk has given us reason to remain positive on the pound but probably not enough to warrant any ‘new’ improvements on the rate. The improvements in Eurozone data were a big driver too helping the Euro to climb against the pound.
